Employee transportation services in Mumbai

Shift cabs, office shuttles and night drops for teams across Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai. We plan the routes, check every driver, and send you one GST invoice a month.

What is employee transportation?

Employee transportation, also called ETS, staff transport or an employee cab service, is transport a company arranges for its people between home, or a common pickup point, and the workplace. It runs on shift timings, with routes planned around where employees live.

Mumbai companies use it for three reasons. Long commutes eat into the working day. Shifts often start or end when trains and buses are thin. And employers have a legal duty to drop women employees home after 9:30 pm.

In short: Mobilyty provides employee transportation services in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai. You share headcount, home areas and shift timings. We plan the routes, assign document-checked drivers and vehicles from our Mumbai partner network, run day and night shifts, and bill one GST invoice a month.

Why staff transport breaks down in Mumbai

Most offices start with reimbursed app cabs or a local vendor. Both work until the first missed night drop.

Reimbursed app cabs get expensive and unpredictable

Fares surge at shift change and in the monsoon, rides get cancelled at 6 am, and finance reconciles hundreds of receipts every month.

Local vendors go quiet when it matters

A driver doesn’t turn up at 11 pm, nobody answers the phone, and there are no papers on file if security asks who was driving.

Night drops carry legal responsibility

In Maharashtra, an employer who keeps women working after 9:30 pm must get them home to their doorstep. A missed drop is a compliance problem.

Employee transport services we run

Pick what your office needs. Most companies combine two or three of these.

Daily home-to-office cabs

Rostered pickups and drops for fixed office hours. Employees are grouped by area so ride times stay sensible.

Rotational and 24×7 shift transport

For BPOs, IT support desks, hospitals and plants with rotating shifts. When the roster changes, the routes change with it.

Night drops for women employees

Doorstep drops after 9:30 pm, planned to your night-travel policy and Maharashtra’s rules.

Shuttles from railway stations

Tempo travellers on fixed loops from Andheri, Ghatkopar, Thane or Vashi stations to your office gate.

Dedicated monthly cabs

Backup and late-working cabs

Extra cabs when someone stays late, a shift runs over, or a route needs one more vehicle for the week.

How we set up employee transport for your office

From your first message to the first pickup, you deal with one coordinator.

  1. Step 1

    Share your requirement

Headcount, office address, the areas or pincodes your people live in, and shift timings. A spreadsheet is fine.

  2. Step 2

Get a route plan and rate card

We group employees by area, suggest the right vehicle for each route, and price it on the model that suits you.

  3. Step 3

    Run a pilot

Start with one route or one shift. Fix timings and pickup points before you scale up.

  4. Step 4

    Go live, billed monthly

Roster changes go to your coordinator. At month end you get one GST invoice with trip-wise details.

Night shifts and women’s safety in Maharashtra

Under Section 13 of the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Act, 2017, women may work between 9:30 pm and 7:00 am only if the employer meets four conditions. Transport to her doorstep is one of them.

What the law asks of employers

  • The woman employee has given her consent.
  • Adequate protection of her dignity, honour and safety.
  • Protection from sexual harassment.
  • Transport from the workplace to her doorstep.

How Mobilyty plans night drops

  • Licence and police verification checked for every night-shift driver.
  • Drops planned to the doorstep, not the nearest main road.
  • Route order set to your policy, so a woman is not the last drop.
  • Night trips listed in the monthly report for your records.

Employee transportation FAQs

Straight answers to what HR, admin and procurement teams ask us most.

Ask us anything

What are employee transportation services?

Employee transportation services are commutes a company arranges for its staff between home, or a common pickup point, and the workplace. They run on shift timings and planned routes, and the company pays the transport provider directly instead of reimbursing individual cab rides.

How much does employee transportation cost in Mumbai?

Cost depends on the pricing model, vehicle type, distance, shift timings and tolls. Mumbai companies usually pay a monthly fee per dedicated cab, a fixed price per route, or a per-seat price for shuttles. Mobilyty sends a written rate card after seeing your headcount and routes.

Must Maharashtra employers provide transport for women on night shifts?

Yes. Under Section 13 of the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Act, 2017, women may work between 9:30 pm and 7:00 am only if the employer provides transport to their doorstep, has their consent, and protects their safety, dignity and freedom from harassment.

What documents should a corporate cab driver and vehicle have?

The driver needs a licence valid for transport vehicles, police verification and photo ID. The vehicle needs its registration certificate, a commercial permit, a fitness certificate, commercial insurance and a valid PUC certificate. Mobilyty checks every one of these before a first trip.

Does Mobilyty run night shifts?

Yes. Mobilyty runs pickups and drops for night and rotational shifts, including doorstep drops for women employees after 9:30 pm, planned around your company’s night-travel policy and Maharashtra’s rules.

Which areas does Mobilyty cover for employee transport?

Mobilyty covers Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai, including BKC, Lower Parel, Andheri East, Powai, Goregaon, Vikhroli, Wagle Estate, Ghodbunder Road, Airoli, Vashi and CBD Belapur. For offices elsewhere, ask and we will tell you honestly whether our network covers it.

Does Mobilyty own its vehicles?

Mobilyty runs its own vehicle plus a vetted network of Mumbai fleet owners and drivers. Every partner driver and vehicle goes through the same document checks, and one Mobilyty coordinator stays accountable for your service.

Can you handle rosters that change every week?

Yes. Send roster changes to your coordinator before the agreed cut-off time. Routes and vehicles are re-planned for the next shift cycle, so new joiners, leavers and shift swaps are covered without a new contract.

What vehicles can we get for employee transport?

Sedans such as the Swift Dzire for up to four passengers, MUVs such as the Ertiga or Innova Crysta for up to six, and tempo travellers for 12 to 17 passengers on shuttle routes. The vehicle mix is chosen route by route.

How does billing work?

You receive one consolidated GST invoice each month with trip-wise details, so finance has nothing to reconcile ride by ride. Rates are agreed in writing before service starts, and they do not surge at shift change or in the monsoon.

Can we try the service before committing?

Yes. Most companies start with a pilot on one route or one shift. You see how pickups, drops and reporting work in practice, then extend the service to more routes when you are satisfied.

How is employee transport different from corporate car rental?

Employee transport moves groups of staff on fixed routes and shift timings, usually every working day. Corporate car rental gives you a car and chauffeur for a set time, such as a day of meetings or a visiting client.

How do we get started?

Share your headcount, office location, the areas your employees live in and your shift timings through the form on this page. Mobilyty replies with a route plan and a written rate card, and you can begin with a pilot.
